The Azimut Theatrical Festival is organised by Azimut Distribution, an Italian distributor that is bringing the best arthouse films to the Italian audience.

For this festival we will select only 10 short films that will be distributed in Italian cinemas for 3 months, from November until January, with more than 30 screenings all around Italy. At the end of the theatrical run, there will be the Azimut Awards night in February in Rome, at the historic Cinema Farnese.

We believe that short films deserve to be distributed in cinemas just like movies do, that's why we are launching this festival in its 1st edition 2023-2024.

We will select 10 short films from around the world to be distributed in Italian cinemas from November until January, with more than 30 screenings in major Italian cities like: MILAN, TURIN, VENICE, TRIESTE, UDINE, BOLOGNA, REGGIO EMILIA, FLORENCE, PISA, ROME, PERUGIA, ANCONA, PESCARA, NAPLES, PALERMO and more...

At the end of the theatrical run, the festival jury will assign the awards and announce them in February at the AZIMUT AWARDS night in ROME, at the historic CINEMA FARNESE in Campo de' Fiori.

The official jury will be announced in December and it will be composed by well renowned artists from the Italian cinema industry.

The list of awards to be assigned at the Azimut Awards night in February include:

Best Short Film - 500 Euro cash prize
